The Cancer Biology group (formerly the “Cancer Research Group - one of the first groups established within COSA), is focused on bridging the gap between laboratory-based cancer research and applied research in a clinical setting.

The group has been exploring new means to fulfil this role, specifically by facilitating COSA collaboration with relevant research-based societies as well as with the researchers themselves.  One specific area that we have focussed on has been biobanking from clinical trials operated by the Cooperative Trials Groups (CCTGs).  We have recently been exploring ways in which we can become more closely aligned with the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA) in recognition of the core role they play in cancer management.

All members of COSA are eligible for membership of the Cancer Biology group.  This group has particular relevance to pathologists and members of the Biobanking interest group.  Current COSA members can join this group by selecting the “Cancer Biology” membership box under update profile.
