ANZUP Stage 1 testicular cancer Surveillance Recommendations

ANZUP Germ Cell Subcommittee has created Surveillance Recommendations for the follow up of Stage 1 testicular cancer, as well as a handout for patients to explain the process. These documents have been endorsed by ANZUP’s Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) and Consumer Advisory Panel (CAP), MOGA and COSA.

It is recommended that all centres use standardised protocols for follow-up of Stage 1 testicular cancer, which are based on the expected frequency, timing and patterns of disease recurrence; and minimise unnecessary radiation exposure.

These recommendations provide a useful protocolschedule calculator and patient handout that reflects consensus opinion and aligns with published evidence-based international guidelines, and provide a standardised platform for future research.

The recommendations can be found on the ANZUP website under “Trials - Testicular Cancer”.
