Overview
The Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Group was established to address the unique needs of adolescents and young adults with cancer and their caregivers.
The COSA AYA Group has strong links with CanTeen and Cancer Australia and has been leading efforts to improve outcomes for AYAs with its multidisciplinary focus.
Key group objectives include:
- Foster collaboration between adult and paediatric oncologists and facilities
- Collaborate with other associated organisations working on AYA specific issues
- Foster and promote AYA cancer research
- Identify and recommend strategies to optimise standards of care for AYA cancer patients and improve and evaluate outcomes in AYA cancer treatments
The COSA AYA Group has strong links to the COSA Affiliated Organisation Australian and New Zealand Children’s Haematology/Oncology Group (ANZCHOG).
