Supportive Care: No cash for cancer test

31 Mar 2021 - Support

The Therapeutic Drugs Administration (TGA) has been criticised for being too slow to approve drugs, while thousands of seriously ill people are unable to afford a test that could save their life. A special investigation by The Courier-Mail has found Australian women suffering advanced, late-stage breast cancers are desperately searching for more affordable options to improve their prognoses. More than 20,000 women have signed a petition calling on the federal government to make access to molecular testing more affordable to anyone with an advanced or rare cancer more affordable.
