Some 62 million deaths could be prevented if the world’s poorest nations urgently increase cervical cancer services, new research suggests. Two studies published yesterday found 62 million lives could be saved over the next 100 years if 78 countries rapidly increase HPV vaccination and cervical screening. Cancer Council’s Karen Canfell said cervical cancer could be eliminated as a global public health issue.
