Marketing campaigns are fuelling childhood obesity and influencing what children choose to eat, an international report has found. The report, from the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF), found junk food marketing affects what kids “want, buy and eat”, which then contributes to rising levels of childhood obesity. The report also found childhood obesity increased the risk of obesity or being overweight as an adult, which in turn increased the likelihood of a person developing a number of health issues, including 12 types of cancer.
