Important information regarding 2013 COSA Memberships

New 2013 COSA Memberships are currently unavailable - if you would like to be notified when they re-open please email cosa@cancer.org.au

For current COSA members we have two important announcements to make:

  1. COSA membership is moving from calendar year to financial year
  2. COSA is providing 6 months free membership to all current financial members

So what does this mean?

If your COSA membership was due to expire 31 December 2012 your membership is still valid until membership renewals open in June 2013 (to commence 1 July 2013) giving you 6 months complimentary membership.

If your COSA membership is due to expire 31 December 2013 (ie you previously purchased a 2 year COSA membership) your membership is still valid until 30 June 2014 giving you 6 months complimentary membership.

If you held a 2012 COSA/CNSA membership, the COSA component of your membership is valid until 30 June 2013 however you will need to contact CNSA regarding your CNSA membership, please visit the website http://www.cnsa.org.au/membership.htm

All COSA members that are due to renew their membership in June 2013 will receive a renewal email outlining the new process once renewals are open. If you had previously purchased a 2 year membership, you will receive your instructions next year.

We are therefore not accepting new members until the renewal period opens. Interested parties are encouraged to contact COSA to ensure they are included on future communications.

Why are we making these changes?
At the 2012 COSA Annual General Meeting (AGM) the membership voted in a new Constitution which will be enacted in 2013. Included in this Constitution are changes to the membership structure of COSA, importantly the introduction of an Affiliated Organisation membership (members of Affiliated Organisations will be offered discounted COSA membership).

Along with the above mentioned change many of you may know that CNSA voted at their July 2012 AGM to operate independently of COSA from 2013. This in turn has removed the option of a combined COSA/CNSA membership. CNSA is committed to becoming a COSA Affiliated Organisation, which will enable their members to join COSA with a 10% discount.

To ensure that these changes are implemented correctly and a smooth transition is made the COSA Council has elected to move the COSA membership to a financial year membership (1 July to 30 June)

Should you have any questions regarding your COSA membership please contact us on cosa@cancer.org.au

We hope you understand the rationale for these changes and we look forward to your continued support.
