The Education subcommittee of COSA is primarily concerned with promoting multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary education of its members. It seeks to improve the educational resources and opportunities for COSA health care professionals working in the field of oncology.
In addressing the educational needs of COSA members, multidisciplinary learning has been a focus. The paper, “Mutidisciplinary care - what is in it for me?" by the Education subcommittee was presented at the 2006 COSA Annual Scientific Meeting.
The other focus of the group's work has been maintaining and strengthening collaboration with existing educational projects to ensure that COSA's perspective is well represented. Members of the group have been involved in the Cancer Professionals Professional Development Project.
Other activities of the Education subcommittee include to:
- Promote curriculum development for all health professionals in cancer, identifying existing channels and ways to assist
- Maximise readership and reach of Cancer Forum as a quality journal
- Encourage membership to publish articles on national or strategic issues
