The Cancer Pharmacists Group (CPG) is a group of COSA comprised of pharmacists practising in a variety of settings including medical oncology, haematology, palliative care and chemotherapy preparation services.
The CPG is committed to promoting and developing the role of the pharmacist in cancer services. Members have a common interest in ensuring the provision of optimal pharmaceutical care and drug therapy for cancer patients.
The group provides the only national multidisciplinary forum for pharmacists working in cancer services. Our goal is to facilitate training, education and research within both pharmacy and cancer services while ensuring that pharmacists have input into key national policy documents and clinical guidelines.
Support is provided by way of a network of pharmacists who can utilise each other's expertise to discuss and resolve issues related to cancer services. A web-based discussion group is available for members.
The COSA Annual Scientific Meeting provides a valuable opportunity for pharmacists working within cancer services to present research, meet up and to discuss specific projects while keeping up to date on current practice and research.
